First, I have to admit I am a bit intimidated about this new blogging adventure I have embarked upon. I realize that much of my "fear" of blogging is related to not being clever enough or not knowing how to punctuate my sentences correctly. How can I compete with the wonderful blogs I have subscribed to in my recent past? How can I capture and entertain an audience? Then I realized that my main goal for blogging is quite simple: I want to be able to have a more time efficient way of journaling my life without putting pen to paper. Why? Well, because my (after) life has become way too busy to endulge myself in the dying art of journaling. It is time to move on, to persue modern ways of reflecting and sharing, and, to be frank, to find a way to 'write' a thought quickly before my young son interrupts the pen from hitting the page. Hence, my blog. Here it is...I've done it. Isn't she pretty?
I have to laugh because I had high hopes for the title and subtitle of my blog and I spent half an hour just thinking about it. So, after spending way too much time on this simple tasks I created a few rules to live by for my future blogging self:
1. Don't worry about being creative. Recognize that you are self-concious about your lack of creativity and it usually shows when you think too much about it.
2. Just type! Eventually, what you are trying to say will come out. It may be raw, but at least it's out there.
3. Nothing is off limits - share what is in your heart.
So, that's it. I have high hopes for this blog and cannot wait to share with the masses. For now, the baby monitor sitting to my right has alerted me to the fact that my son is no longer interested in napping. Until next time....
